Halo is a project by French artist Aïssa Logerot that replaces tradition paint cans with LED “spraypaint”. Using slow exposure photography and the handheld LED can, you can imitate the technique and visual look of graffiti.

A kaleidoscope of the spontaneous, surprising, electrifying human connections that pump the city’s heartbeat. Sexy, funny, haunting and revealing encounters unfold beneath the Manhattan skyline. The story weaves a tale of love as diverse as the very fabric of New York itself.
Wow – Look at the cast on this sucka; Bradley Cooper, Justin Bartha, Andy Garcia, Hayden Christensen, Rachel Bilson, Natalie Portman, Irrfan Khan, Shia LaBeouf, Ethan Hawke, Orlando Bloom, Blake Lively.
Wait and check out the list of directors too; Jiang Wen, Mira Nair, Shunji Iwai, Yvan Attal, Brett Ratner, Allen Hughes, Shekhar Kapur.
Pretty much the widest array of talent attached to a single film. I cannot wait to check out this collection of stories on the city I am most in love with; New York, New York.

Audrey Kawasaki’s amazing girls.
Anime-inspired, sexually driven, and deviously sweet but seductive, Audrey Kawasaki’s girls are amazing.
The American-Japanese artist whose work has gone from best to better. She hasn’t released anything in a while, and is no doubt warming up to her solo show at Jonathan Levine Gallery NY in december.
Take a second to look back over her older work after the jump.

Discovery came out of nowhere.
Their LP only landed just last month, and I picked it up last week. The duo have been ringing in my ears ever since.
A collaboration between Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij and Wes Mile of Ra Ra Riot. The two come together in a joyful, electric-pop kind of way.
If your a fan of postal service, vampire weekend or passion pit – you will feel right at home.
The LP has a massive range of sounds, all of which are fit to welcome summer with.
The album is pretty diverse, and is perfect for roadtripping or daydreaming in your room.
Check out their spotlight song and the rest of the album, if it’s your cup of tea.

Welcome to kindofpretty’s new home!
I have finally found some time to work through the daunting process of re-establishing kindofpretty.
There have been a whole bunch of changes – you’ll immediately notice a brand new design; thanks Ilai for helping implement that – site layout and content will be next up in the line of fresh changes.
As this is a personal journal – the site will be linked to all the usual social networks, keeping everyone up to date on projects, interests and anything else that I can’t keep inside my head!
Its still an evolving space – but I would love any feedback on the new design, or requests for what type of content you would like to see more of.
I now have three sections to the site – TRAVEL – MOVIES-MUSIC-DESIGN – TECH. Each will give you your fill of each.
These are still under construction, but will be ready VERY soon.
If you want to know more head over to the fresh about. tab. Its a quick run down on what were all about.
I still have a bunch of kinks to work out – but I rather like the set up, and I can finally focus on getting some content in all this empty space.
max.

Here is the brand spanking new trailer for Where the Wild Things Are.
I am rather disappointed to hear about the re-shoot and edit to make the film less scary and more family-friendly. Who did they think they were aiming this film at? Directed by Spike Jonze, one of the most haunting children’s book, trailer’s scored by Arcade Fire.
They seem to be hitting straight to the heart of an audience that they are not aiming for. Me!
I re-read the book today. Took all of two minutes, but it still scares me a little. I think it’s the fact that the monsters are so wild that, even though they love Max, they growl and gnash their teeth at him when he leaves. That, and the completely unique style they are drawn in.
