Me and Francesca arrived back in japan!
We went straight into Shinjuku last night and grabbed a few plates of gyoza and come beers. At that point we had almost been awake 24 hours and we were stumbling a little from the beers.
Had a giant sleep, revived!
Time to jump back on the train.

I would really, really, reeeeally like to live in New York City at some point – relitively soon – in my life.

New York is the appitomy of an industrialized, capatalized city.

The island of Manhattan, is entirely covered and cultervated by humans – like a buzzing hive of bees. There is no escaping the city – there are only man-made flourishes of nature, laced between the vast bustling sky scrapers.
And even scraping the sky, in the smoggy atmosphere above the city, people scramble inside and out of buildings high above the street.
The city fuctions on extremes – poverty to glamor – unbearable heat to snow – the flat ocean surrounding the emense buildings.

I really want to get to see how it all works for myself. Its such an extreme away from where I am about to go – Japan, Tokyo – and I really want to see both ends of the scale.

I made an attempt at pulling out a cookbook, taking a list down to the super, and cooking myself a mean by instruction:

It worked!

details details
And since I was the only one eating it I can be the judge, and I consider it a resounding success!

Another movie on its way, to keep an eye on.
Tim Burton’s following up his mixed bag of SWEENY TODD. I personally liked the film. There were a couple of bits and pieces that made me wince, the two young lovers to be specific. But Tim Burton’s newest story is such a perfect fit for his ironic, twisted and sweet storytelling, that the film could be a classic in the vein of EDWARD SCISSOR HANDS.
Alice

Mia Wasikowska
The Mad Hatter:

Johnny Dept
The Caterpiller:

Alan Rickman
Among others such as:
Anne Hathaway
Helena Bonham Carter
& Christopher Lee.
Heres hoping it all goes well.

Just purchased this. well, I actually LAY bought it from the Outré Gallery in Melbourne and Sydney Australia.
Can NOT wait to get my hands on it. It measures 48 x 53cm PLUS the frame. So its a decent size.
AK’s exhibit begins February 13th in Melbourne.
